Dr. Tiurma M. P. Allagan
Senior Researcher

Dr. Tiurma is our senior researcher and has been a faculty member in the International Law Department (Private International Law) at the Faculty of Law, Universitas Indonesia (FHUI) since 1998, and also teaches at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Indonesia. She earned her Bachelor of Laws (1995) and Master of Laws cum laude (2006) from FHUI, and completed her Ph.D. in Law at the University of Groningen, the Netherlands, in 2019, with scholarships from FHUI for both her master’s and doctoral studies.

Currently, Dr. Allagan serves as Head of the Undergraduate Program at FHUI, having previously held positions as Head of the International Undergraduate Program and Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Private International Law Studies. She has been an active member of the FHUI Senate and Secretary of the International Law Department across several terms since 2009. In addition, she is a member of the Indonesian Association of Private International Law Scholars, the Indonesian Advocates Association (PERADI), and the Indonesian Legal Consultants Association. With prior experience as a legal practitioner from 1997 to 2009, including as a senior associate at a Jakarta-based law firm affiliated with an Australian firm, Dr. Allagan also regularly contributes her expertise as a resource person and legal expert to various ministries and state institutions, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Trade, Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Law and Human Rights, BPHN, and the Indonesian House of Representatives.
